Hello to all our wonderful customers! Welcome to the August issue of APPEEL! One more month to go for winter and we’ll be right into Spring
To start off this issue, let me take the opportunity to inform everyone that Adam’s BrunchBox has been presented with a ‘Finalist for the 2009 Australia Post Stirling Best New Business Award’ certificate!
This fantastic gala event was organised and hosted by the Stirling Business Association and was conducted on the 31st July 09. There were nine categories for the 2009 Australia Post Stirling Small Business Awards event, and Adam’s BrunchBox was nominated as a finalist in the Best New Business Award category. This was the only category we submitted an entry for.
Although the total number of entrants remain confidential, we do gather that there were record numbers of submissions this year from businesses located within the City of Stirling which covers 29 suburbs including Balcatta, Innaloo, Dianella, Karrinyup, Osborne Park, Scarborough, Mirrabooka and Mt Lawley and Wembley Downs.
The Gala Awards Night was beautifully coordinated and it had an interesting Bollywood theme. We were all waiting in anticipation when the winner for our category was announced, and I was actually glad it was the first category to be presented so we did not have to wait through the entire evening. But alas, it wasn’t meant to be, and Adam’s BrunchBox extends our congratulations to Lightscape Concepts and Design for winning this award.
Even though we did not receive the winning award, all of us are very proud to receive the honorary certificate in recognition of being one of the top three Finalist in this category. To us, it reflects an immense recognition of the sheer hard work each of us have put into this business. Both Andrew and I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our fantastic staff: Gina, Daisy and Man, for their constant diligence and dedication to Adam’s BrunchBox. Without them, we would never have coped with the expanding business. To be nominated as a top three finalist in less than a year of operation is a tremendous achievement for all of us.
More importantly, we would like to thank all of you - our wonderful customers, without whom this business would not be where we are today. You are the ones who breathe life into our shop every minute of every day with your smiles, little chuckles, the banter and gossip, and of course, your desire to be treated with our smooth coffee and fresh selection of food.
Adam’s BrunchBox would also like to thank the judges, the Stirling Business Association and all the sponsors for making this opportunity possible. It is indeed assuring to know small businesses like ours do receive ongoing support and recognition for the work that we do.
Cheers, Simon |
